Family Studies equips you for careers in family counseling centers, parent education programs, domestic violence shelters, and other family service organizations. This program explores the lifelong development of individuals and families, from childhood through adulthood, focusing on compassionate, human-centered approaches to real-world challenges. Our curriculum examines how people grow, adapt, and overcome obstacles across different life stages. As an interdisciplinary department, we investigate human development within family systems, educational environments, and community settings. Through academic instruction, research initiatives, and community engagement, we support the wellbeing of individuals and families in Washington state and across the country.

Qualification Requirements

To be considered for admission to Washington State University as a first-year student, a student needs to complete at least 12 years of school, culminating in an appropriate secondary certificate or external examination.
