This combined program in human development and family science alongside social work provides students with comprehensive understanding of individuals and families throughout all life stages, equipping them for careers in human services. Participants will develop diverse competencies to support individuals navigating an evolving society while qualifying for North Dakota's social work licensure. Learners simultaneously pursue either the family science or adult development and aging track within NDSU's HDFS program while completing Minot State University's social work requirements. Successful completion awards both a Bachelor of Science from NDSU and a Bachelor of Social Work from MSU. Through a collaborative arrangement, students fulfill all degree requirements while remaining at NDSU, with MiSU faculty delivering social work courses either in-person or via distance learning. The integrated HDFS and social work curriculum enhances graduates' professional capabilities, merging human development studies with social work education. The program features a robust liberal arts foundation, encompassing human development, family dynamics, social work methods, welfare systems, behavioral studies, research methodologies, plus supplementary coursework in economics, psychology, sociology, and political science.
