The Master of Public Health (MPH) is a professional graduate degree designed to equip students for careers in public health across various levels, from local communities to international organizations. The Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) accredits institutions and programs to guarantee their curricula properly prepare students for public health careers. Key components include hands-on fieldwork where students perform actual public health duties, along with a final capstone project showcasing their expertise. Many students pursuing other advanced degrees choose to combine them with an MPH to expand their career opportunities.
This 42-credit program typically spans two years (four semesters) for full-time students, with flexible options for part-time, accelerated, or dual-degree paths. The curriculum is carefully structured to build knowledge progressively, with students working closely with advisors to create personalized study plans. These plans consist of 22 core credits, 9 specialization credits, and 8 professional development credits. The MPH program features two specialization tracks: Infectious Disease and Community Health Promotion and Equity.
