CPAP provides two degree options: the Master of Public Administration (MPA) and a PhD in public administration and public affairs. The MPA program is available in Blacksburg, Arlington, Richmond, and online, while the Ph.D. is offered at Blacksburg and Arlington campuses. CPAP additionally hosts two graduate certificates in Homeland Security Policy and Local Government Management. M.P.A. candidates must fulfill nine mandatory 3-credit courses, select three electives, and complete a portfolio, totaling 39 credit hours. GRE or GMAT scores are not required. Virginia Tech undergraduates pursuing Smart and Sustainable Cities (SSC) or Environmental Policy and Planning (EPP) majors with a minimum 3.5 GPA and 90 completed credit hours may qualify for the Accelerated Undergraduate/Graduate degree pathway.
