The Counselor Education program at Virginia Tech provides a master's degree (M.A.E.D) at their Roanoke Center and a Ph.D. program at the main Blacksburg campus. The master's program requires 60 credit hours, typically completed in two years by full-time students. Initial coursework occurs during the first summer and fall terms, with clinical training starting in spring and continuing through program completion. Graduates from the school counseling track receive faculty endorsement for Virginia Department of Education licensure/certification as school counselors.
