The Department of Animal and Poultry Sciences at Virginia Tech provides Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degree programs. Students can focus on specialized fields including genetics, genomics, immunology, animal management, muscle biology, nutrition, physiology, and quality control for products. The department promotes cross-disciplinary collaboration and allows students considerable flexibility to design tailored academic paths aligned with their professional aspirations. With 32 faculty members, the department supports approximately 600 undergraduate and 60 graduate students.
