Graduate students work toward M.S. or Ph.D. degrees in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. The Veterinary Sciences Department provides cross-disciplinary programs centered on animal and public health. Your advanced studies may connect to various medical specialties such as virology, bacteriology, parasitology, pathology, toxicology, epidemiology, or immunology. Numerous research initiatives focus on health concerns affecting domestic animals or wildlife, examine diseases at the intersection of domestic and wild species, or explore pathogens that can transmit between animals and humans.

Qualification Requirements

GPA The University and Department require a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 however it is highly recommended that students have a GPA of 3.25 or higher Individual faculty may have higher requirements for graduate students to enter their lab

Transcripts The Department is happy to review unofficial transcripts during the selection process but prior to acceptance for admission arrangements must be made to have official transcripts sent to the UW Office of Admissions Transcripts not in English must be translated by the issuing university or by a commercial translation service Please visit the Office of Admissions for more information

GRE scores The Department no longer requires GRE scores for graduate students however individual faculty may require GRE and minimum levels for graduate students to enter their lab If the faculty member you are communicating with requires GRE scores please have the Educational Testing Service ETS transmit official scores to the University of Wyoming Code 4855
