The Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies promotes academic exploration and community involvement focused on communities that transcend boundaries defined by location, language, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, and identity. As a multidisciplinary academic domain, CLACX equips students with essential skills for thriving in an interconnected world: comparative and analytical thinking, multilingual proficiency, and meaningful interaction with the most significant population groups in the Americas.
CLACX features a 4+1 program enabling outstanding Latin American studies undergraduates to accelerate their graduate education by completing one additional year of classes and submitting a master's thesis. Prospective 4+1 students should seek guidance from their academic advisor early in their studies and submit their program application before the conclusion of their junior year.
