The European Studies: Russia and Eastern Europe program is a collaborative effort between the Department of German, Russian, and East European Studies and the European Studies Program. This interdisciplinary major explores Russian and Eastern European cultures while examining contemporary Europe's political, economic, and cultural complexities. Participants are strongly advised to complement their studies with international learning opportunities.
Graduates develop skills applicable to diverse professional paths including legal practice, corporate leadership, public administration, national security, diplomacy, media, cultural institutions, and academia. Many alumni have continued their education at prestigious institutions like Stanford, Georgetown, and Finland's University of Helsinki. Some have established themselves in commercial ventures within the region or with companies engaging with Eastern European markets, while others have risen to leadership positions in major corporations.
