The Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services, home to the Psychology Department, stands among the top 2% of graduate education colleges nationwide. Recognized as third in the country for research funding by U.S. News & World Report's America's Best Graduate Schools, the college fosters strong faculty-student research partnerships. These collaborations explore diverse areas such as parenting support for Latino families, anxiety disorder treatments, early childhood cognition, drug abuse modeling in animals, and behavioral impulsivity. Students regularly contribute to national conferences, publish in academic journals, and pursue grant opportunities. Utah State University's Psychology Department provides both Educational Specialist (EdS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs in School Psychology. The EdS track trains practitioners for school environments, while the PhD program develops researchers and clinicians for diverse settings including schools, medical facilities, and private practice. The curriculum emphasizes scientific problem-solving alongside comprehensive training in assessment, intervention, and consultation methods, with a strong focus on culturally aware, ethical, and legally sound practices in interdisciplinary teamwork.
