The Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services, home to the Psychology Department, ranks among the top 2% of graduate education colleges nationwide. It also holds the third position for total research funding received, as reported by U.S. News & World Report's America's Best Graduate Schools.
Faculty in the Psychology Department work closely with students on diverse research initiatives, such as parenting programs for Latino communities, anxiety disorder treatments, early childhood cognition studies, drug abuse modeling in animals, and impulsivity research. Students regularly participate in national conferences, contribute to academic publications, and pursue grant opportunities.
Combined Clinical/Counseling Psychology (PhD):
Our APA-accredited doctoral program integrates clinical and counseling psychology training. The curriculum prepares students for diverse professional paths by covering various psychological issues, patient groups, clinical environments, and therapeutic methods. Our distinguished faculty specialize in multiple fields, including culturally adapted therapies, identity formation, LGBTQ+ studies, child/adolescent treatment, neuropsychological assessment, ethical practice, acceptance and commitment therapy, parenting skills training, digital mental health services, military psychology, sexual wellness, trauma recovery, cognitive decline, anxiety conditions, and OCD-related disorders.
