USU's rangeland ecology and management program stands as Utah's sole Society for Range Management-accredited degree. Range professionals work with natural resources across diverse landscapes including grasslands, deserts, woodlands, wetlands, and tundras - ecosystems covering vast portions of the U.S. and global land area. The curriculum equips students with skills to sustainably manage rangeland resources, maintaining vital outputs like wildlife habitats, livestock forage, water supplies, and recreational spaces. Additionally, the program covers techniques for rehabilitating lands affected by previous mismanagement.
