The Department of Zoology and Physiology brings together a varied and cooperative team of faculty and researchers dedicated to offering students an exceptional educational and research experience. We support learners pursuing studies in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology and Management, Zoology, Physiology, Biology, Ecology, Neuroscience, and Pre-professional Health Care.
As the biggest academic unit at the University of Wyoming, our department includes 30 faculty members, 350 undergraduate majors, 60 graduate students, and secures $3 million in annual external research funding. We provide four undergraduate programs: Biology (in partnership with Botany), Zoology, Physiology, and Wildlife and Fisheries Biology and Management. Graduate students can pursue M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Zoology and Physiology. Additionally, our faculty mentor graduate candidates in interdisciplinary Ph.D. programs such as Neuroscience and Ecology.
