The biomechanics specialization appeals to students aiming for careers in injury analysis, biomechanics, athletic training, physical therapy, strength coaching, and rehabilitation.
Our research focuses on investigating exercise mechanisms, sports-related and occupational lower limb and spinal injuries, creating effective prevention and rehabilitation methods, evaluating sports techniques and performance, along with motor control and learning processes.
Our lab features motion capture technology, various force platforms, and electromyography equipment for analyzing human movement in athletic and everyday situations. Current studies involve evaluating strength and balance in college athletes, examining jump-landing mechanics and ACL injury risks, assessing strength training exercises biomechanically, and analyzing dance movements.
The majority of our alumni have gained admission to prestigious PhD or Physical Therapy programs. Supporting students in reaching their professional aspirations remains our primary focus.
