The animal and veterinary science program offers a practical, immersive curriculum focused on meat-animal production and animal welfare. You'll explore diverse topics ranging from animal biology and dietary needs to business strategies, food processing, biochemistry, and microbial studies, allowing you to tailor your education to your professional goals.
While gaining essential scientific knowledge for your career, you'll also engage in hands-on experiences like working with fistulated cattle, managing farm animals, or researching illnesses impacting Wyoming's domestic and wild animal populations.
This Animal and Veterinary Sciences (ANVS) degree is a collaborative effort between the Animal Science Department and Veterinary Sciences Department, with faculty specialists covering all eight available focus areas.
