This program leads to initial teacher certification, awarding graduates a Bachelor's Degree in Physics Education with a concurrent Physics major. It qualifies students to teach Physics at middle and high school levels (grades 6-12).
The program requires completion of 120 credit hours minimum. Students must maintain a C grade or higher in all major courses. Most upper-level education courses, including EDSE 4500 Residency in Teaching, require a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA from the University of Wyoming. Content area courses demand a 2.50 GPA minimum, with at least 42 upper-division credits required.
Prospective teachers must complete an initial background check before beginning field experiences. The College of Education covers this first background check through student fees - consult your advisor for specific procedures.
