Working alongside various academic departments at UW-Milwaukee, SOIS provides students with the chance to pursue dual Master's degrees simultaneously—one in Library and Information Science (MLIS) and another in a specialized field. The MLIS portion of these joint programs consists of 30 credit hours from SOIS coursework. This includes 12 credits of foundational MLIS classes, with the additional 18 credits tailored to each student's academic focus within the coordinated degree path. One such program combines a Master of Science in Urban Studies with the MLIS, equipping graduates for careers as urban information experts through a 54-credit curriculum.
