This program focuses on music students aiming to specialize in teaching their primary string instrument. Admission requires passing an audition demonstrating proficient performance skills.

Candidates for the Music Performance String Pedagogy concentration must exhibit exceptional playing ability. While in-person auditions are standard, exceptional circumstances may allow recorded submissions. Prospective students should consult faculty regarding specific audition requirements. Although GRE scores aren't mandatory, taking them early is recommended for fellowship consideration or future graduate studies beyond UWM's master's program.
