Working alongside various academic departments at UW-Milwaukee, SOIS enables students to pursue dual Master's degrees simultaneously—one in Library and Information Science (MLIS) and another in a specialized field. The MLIS portion of these joint programs consists of 30 credit hours from SOIS coursework. This includes the foundational MLIS classes (12 credits), with the additional 18 credits tailored to each student's academic focus within the coordinated degree path. Specifically, the MLIS/MA Art History Dual Degree Program equips graduates for careers as art librarians, rare book specialists, museum archivists, registrars, and collections managers in art institutions.
