The Urban Studies PhD program stands out as an interdisciplinary doctoral initiative aimed at equipping students for advanced urban society research. This program operates on the principle that understanding metropolitan challenges requires proficiency in diverse research approaches, familiarity with urban growth theories, and awareness of cities' historical and social underpinnings. Drawing expertise from multiple urban-focused fields, the program delivers unparalleled urban research training unavailable in conventional doctoral tracks. To date, it has produced more than 100 PhD graduates. The curriculum's foundation covers urban social systems, urban research methodologies, and urban development theories, with students allocating three courses to one of over ten available specialization tracks.
