The Center for Demography and Population Health (CDPH) offers specialized training for master's and doctoral candidates from various disciplines, working in partnership with their home departments. While CDPH doesn't confer doctoral degrees directly, it provides comprehensive educational support.
Students can access diverse training options at CDPH, including coursework, research positions, and personalized guidance from affiliated professors. Certain departments permit doctoral concentrations in CDPH-related fields - for example, Sociology PhD candidates can specialize in Demography, while Health and Aging specialists may focus on Population Health. Many programs accept Demography or Population Health courses as doctoral electives. Our interdisciplinary faculty delivers both deep specialization and wide-ranging perspectives in these fields.
Interested applicants are encouraged to consult with CDPH faculty members whose expertise aligns with their academic goals to explore potential opportunities. Campus-wide students may utilize CDPH resources and training programs through a competitive selection process, requiring faculty endorsement.
