The Committee Interdisciplinary Major offers a pathway for independent, driven students whose academic goals extend beyond UWM's established degree programs. This option suits learners who envision a specialized focus bridging multiple disciplines, one that existing majors cannot accommodate. Prospective students should formulate a unifying theme connecting diverse academic areas and consult with a faculty member whose expertise aligns with this concept to verify its interdisciplinary nature. Upon securing a faculty advisor, the student collaborates with them to assemble a three-member interdisciplinary committee. Together, they craft and submit a detailed proposal to formally establish this customized major.
