The Department of Asian Languages and Cultures introduces a new interdisciplinary graduate program for MA and PhD students focusing on Asian Languages and Cultures. Learners can explore diverse research opportunities both within the department and across campus, examining Asia through various academic lenses while bridging geographical boundaries between East, South, and Southeast Asian studies. We encourage applications from candidates pursuing transregional or interdisciplinary approaches, whether coming from conventional Asian Studies backgrounds or professional experiences related to Asia.
Our department fosters an engaging academic environment centered on Transasian Studies, actively supporting student initiatives like seminars, reading circles, workshops, and special events. Future graduate students should consider contacting faculty members whose expertise aligns with their scholarly pursuits.
International applicants must have a degree comparable to a regionally accredited U.S. bachelor’s degree.
