The Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) is a STEM-recognized degree program. We welcome applicants both with and without prior design training and value diversity in academic and professional experiences. The program features two tracks: MLA I for students new to design education and MLA II for those holding a previous design degree. This program holds accreditation from the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board (LAAB).

The MLA II track spans two years and caters to applicants with prior degrees in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, Urban Design, or Architecture. While we review candidates from related fields individually, students typically require the foundational training of a professional design degree to qualify for MLA II. MLA II students enhance their existing design education (and professional experience, if applicable) to broaden their creative potential, deepen technical expertise, and strengthen leadership capabilities in design fields. These students merge with MLA I candidates in the second year, engaging in advanced studios, research seminars, elective focus areas, and a culminating capstone project during their final year.
