The dual degree program in Architecture and Landscape Architecture combines ecological and social considerations with the design and creation of structures and outdoor spaces. It reflects the common goals of both departments: culturally-informed placemaking, heritage conservation, holistic design approaches, urban planning, and eco-conscious design solutions. Graduates emerge ready for licensure in architecture and/or landscape architecture, equipped to tackle pressing environmental and community challenges through innovative, ethical, and visionary professional practice, advocacy, and leadership.
This combined degree pathway enables both new and current Master of Architecture (M.Arch) and Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) students to pursue both fields through a structured, intensive curriculum. It fosters interaction and teamwork between students and faculty across disciplines while enriching and expanding academic opportunities within the college. The initiative complements other thriving dual degree offerings in the College of Built Environments, where cross-disciplinary learning, cooperation, and practical application are fundamental priorities.
