The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program can follow graduate studies in environmental science or related fields. Candidates must develop a research proposal, pass qualifying and general exams, finish dissertation work, and defend their findings in a final examination. While coursework is adaptable, students must spend at least two years in residence at the University of Washington.
Applicants should have a GPA of at least 3.0 for the last 2 years of study. PhD program applicants must hold a master’s degree prior to beginning doctoral studies.
