This degree represents focused education within a specific discipline. The program mandates a dissertation plus at least 30 consecutive course hours, with 16+ hours in graduate-exclusive classes. Residency requirements include two full-time semesters (or equivalent) on campus, completing a minimum of 30 consecutive course hours.
Soil and water systems are fundamental to all land and environmental management. The interplay between soils and vegetation regulates water/carbon cycles, nutrient distribution, and watershed characteristics. Our graduate research explores critical soil and hydrology topics including carbon storage, landscape influences on soil properties, management impacts on water quality, BMP effectiveness, soil-plant relationships, and soil-based waste treatment solutions.
