A new undergraduate program in Environmental Engineering was introduced in the fall of 2017. The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering (BSENVE) was established in response to growing student interest and the rising need for environmental engineers. This curriculum enables students to develop specialized knowledge in environmental engineering through a strong grounding in both scientific and engineering fundamentals. Environmental engineers focus on preserving and enhancing environmental quality. By applying scientific and engineering principles, they strive to shield the planet and its inhabitants from adverse environmental effects resulting from natural processes and human actions. The role of environmental engineers is becoming ever more vital, as healthy environments are essential for creating habitable, sustainable communities and urban areas.
