The US healthcare system is increasingly prioritizing wellness over illness treatment, with Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) playing a vital and growing role in primary care. Our program focuses on delivering community-centered primary healthcare services for people of all ages and family units. Expanding upon the foundational knowledge and clinical skills of BSN-educated nurses, the FNP curriculum equips students to deliver comprehensive care that emphasizes health education and service coordination. Students develop competencies in recognizing acute conditions, collaboratively managing typical acute and chronic health issues with interdisciplinary teams, understanding community health requirements and available support systems, and providing patient/family education regarding disease prevention, health maintenance, and wellness strategies.
