The School of Biological Sciences brings together research teams covering a wide range of life science disciplines. To accommodate this variety, the school offers two specialized graduate programs. These programs each have distinct research focuses, academic discussions, and degree prerequisites. Numerous faculty members are involved across multiple graduate programs. Additionally, many professors contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives in Molecular Biology, Biological Chemistry, and Neuroscience. These cross-departmental programs maintain separate admissions procedures from the School of Biological Sciences.

At least a 3.0 or higher undergraduate weighted mean GPA on a 4.0 scale. If the undergraduate GPA is below 3.0, a GPA will be calculated for the last two years attended if schooling was done at a foreign institution, and based upon the last 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) if the student attended a U.S. institution.
Transcripts (mark sheets, school records, grades) for all post-secondary schools attended. Official English translations must be provided if the transcripts are only in the native language.
