The Master of Music program spans two years and requires 32 credit hours, covering subjects like bibliography, music history, literature, and advanced theory, culminating in a thesis. The School of Music upholds a four-part mission: To train future professionals in composition, conducting, instrumental and vocal performance, jazz studies, music education, musicology, theory, and pedagogy. Students reach exceptional standards through demanding musical and scholarly training. The School advances musical artistry and enhances its standing via performances, compositions, research, publications, and by engaging students and faculty in festivals, conferences, competitions, and recordings.
