Athletic Training covers diverse areas of focus. For those interested in working with athletes and performers, educating youth, promoting wellness through fitness, studying sports' impact on character growth, investigating exercise's role in chronic illness, or analyzing connections between body composition, physical activity, and eating disorders, the Athletic Training BS program may be ideal. Athletic trainers specialize in preventing, treating, and rehabilitating injuries from physical exertion. The University's accredited program provides coursework in injury prevention, assessment, recovery, and care management. Students will hone exceptional analytical and decision-making abilities across eight core competencies defined by the National Athletic Trainers Association: Evidence-Based Practice, Prevention and Health Promotion, Clinical Examination and Diagnosis, Acute Injury and Illness Care, Therapeutic Methods, Psychosocial Approaches and Referrals, Healthcare Management, and Professional Growth and Ethics. Graduates are qualified to take the Board of Certification exam for Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) credentialing.
