The Engineering Physics Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program holds accreditation from ABET's Engineering Accreditation Commission. This physics B.S. degree establishes a solid grounding in both physics and mathematics, equipping students for scientific or technical careers. Compared to the B.A. degree, the B.S. curriculum involves more demanding technical coursework, including two advanced physics special topics classes designed to give upperclassmen flexibility in specializing within physics disciplines. This versatile physics major serves as an excellent foundation for pre-professional tracks (like medical or law school) and education majors.
Physics and engineering physics students with language interests can pursue dual degrees through the International Engineering/Science and Language Program.
Our engineering physics program aims to equip students with interdisciplinary physics and engineering training for industrial careers, advanced education, and continuous learning. The program's educational objectives focus on preparing graduates to:
Pursue graduate studies in various engineering fields or physics,
Excel as engineering professionals in interdisciplinary science-engineering roles, and
Recognize the value of ongoing professional growth.
