The Mathematics Department aims to equip students with comprehensive mathematical knowledge, techniques, and analytical capabilities essential for graduate studies or professional roles demanding mathematical proficiency.
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics (B.S.A.M.) features four specialization tracks: computer sciences, engineering, biomathematics, and business. Students must choose one concentration and fulfill its specific criteria. These tracks offer practical applications for mathematics majors. While all options share core mathematics coursework, they vary in supplementary subject requirements. This program builds a robust undergraduate mathematics foundation ideal for either graduate education or careers in commercial and industrial sectors.
Graduates of the mathematics or applied mathematics programs will:
Show proficiency in employing algebraic, geometric, calculus, advanced analytical, and statistical approaches to model and address practical challenges.
Apply mathematical logic and deductive reasoning to construct rigorous mathematical proofs.
Utilize computational resources to strengthen mathematical comprehension, tackle complex problems, and evaluate solution validity.
