This program is intended for individuals holding a Ph.D., M.S., or B.S. in Physics, engineering, or a similar discipline. Those with a Ph.D. seeking clinical training in Radiation Oncology Physics may find this program particularly suitable. The minimum educational requirement is a Bachelor of Science in medical physics, physics, or a related area. Applicants with non-physics degrees must demonstrate coursework equivalent to a physics minor.
Completion of this degree requires 52 credit hours. Bachelor's degree holders must complete a thesis alongside clinical clerkship for hands-on experience. Master's or doctoral degree candidates may choose to undertake a thesis but must complete a scholarly project in their second year. All enrolled students must pay tuition to UToledo; for specifics on costs and financial aid, contact the UToledo College of Graduate Studies. The two-year curriculum focuses on academic coursework in the first year and clinical medical physics training in the second. Below is the course outline for qualified candidates.
