The Master of Music in Music Education program caters to individuals with a bachelor's degree who seek both an Ohio teaching certification and a graduate degree. This curriculum enables participants to obtain their master's while qualifying for PreK-12 music educator licensure in Ohio.
Spanning 36 semester hours (plus additional requirements for certification), the MM in Music Education blends specialized music pedagogy with tailored coursework chosen in consultation with an academic advisor. The program concludes with advanced theory/research studies and either a thesis or research project aligned with student interests. Instruction is delivered through a mix of in-person, digital, and practical learning experiences.

Three letters of recommendation regarding your potential for doing master's level work from professionals such as an undergraduate major advisor, current employer, school principal or others who are knowledgeable about your ability to engage in graduate work in this degree program
A content area grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.7 on a 4.0 scale for coursework in the selected licensure area is preferred
