The University of Toledo provides an extensive graduate curriculum in geography that:
Combines geographical studies (examining human-environment interactions) with community planning and development
Encourages both theoretical and practical research in geography and urban planning
Enhances cross-cultural awareness
Assists local community initiatives and nonprofit organizations
In the initial phase of this two-year program, UToledo graduate students concentrate on coursework and preparing for their comprehensive examinations. The second year is dedicated to finishing academic requirements and developing their thesis projects.
Nine out of ten alumni from the geography and planning master's program obtain professional positions in their discipline or gain admission to top-tier Ph.D. programs. Others continue their academic journey by pursuing doctoral degrees through UToledo's spatially integrated social sciences initiative.
