Our Geography Department offers a dynamic and varied graduate experience, typically hosting around 60 students evenly split between Master's and Ph.D. candidates. Qualification Requirements

All Official Transcripts. Bachelor Degree is required for Admission. TOEFL PBT - 550. TOEFL IBT - 80. IELTS - 6.5.
Official GRE scores must be sent directly from ETS to MSU. We are Department 2203 and Institution 1465. Waiver requests are only granted if the GRE is not given in your country. At the Master's level we like to see a combined score of 300 of the verbal and quantitative scores and the written score at the 50% percentile.
Transcripts (upload in Online Student Portal these are considered unofficial transcripts but can be used during the application process). Once you have been recommended for acceptance and you decide to come to MSU, MSU Admissions requires that you must submit official academic transcripts from educational institution(s) in sealed/signed envelopes OR mailed from institution directly to Department of Geography, Environment, and Spatial Sciences. If your transcript is from Michigan State University, you do NOT need to submit your MSU transcripts.
