The University of Toledo provides an extensive graduate curriculum in geography that:
Combines geographical studies (examining human-environment interactions) with community planning and development
Encourages both theoretical exploration and practical applications in geography and urban planning
Enhances cross-cultural awareness
Assists local outreach initiatives and community-based organizations
In the initial phase of this two-year program, UToledo graduate students concentrate on coursework and preparing for comprehensive examinations. The final year is dedicated to completing degree requirements and developing thesis projects.
Nine out of ten alumni from the geography and planning master's program obtain professional positions in their discipline or gain admission to top-tier Ph.D. programs. Others continue their academic journey by pursuing doctorates through UToledo's spatially integrated social sciences doctoral track.
