The Geography program, part of the College of Arts and Sciences, provides both MA and PhD degree options. Key research areas include Historical Geography, Human-Environment relationships, and Remote Sensing technologies. The Great Plains region remains a central area of study. The program fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, maintaining strong ties with the School of Natural Resources—particularly the Center for Advanced Land Management Technologies (CALMIT)—as well as Community and Regional Planning and the Center for Great Plains Studies.
