The School Psychology Program focuses on developing skilled professionals with combined expertise in education and psychology, serving as both mental health and instructional specialists. These professionals deliver data-informed, evidence-backed, and culturally-sensitive services to children and families. Training follows a scientist-practitioner framework with an ecological perspective, prioritizing prevention and early intervention through collaborative problem-solving guided by data-driven decisions. Graduates will: demonstrate cultural competence in practice, exhibit strong interpersonal and communication abilities, build partnerships to serve diverse populations effectively, respect developmental diversity and apply family-system research with evidence-based strategies, and employ conflict resolution skills to strengthen relationships. They will also display professional conduct aligned with ethical standards, commit to continuous learning and research, and implement practices that enhance outcomes for children, families, schools, and the profession.
