Boasting over 400 million native speakers, Spanish ranks among the world's most widely spoken languages. It stands as the second most prevalent language in the United States and is commonly used across Europe and much of South America. Choosing to study Spanish at UTSA offers exceptional value and practical benefits for those looking to learn another language.
UTSA's Spanish program cultivates deep understanding of Hispanic culture, literature, and linguistics. Mastering Spanish fosters appreciation for Hispanic artistic traditions and enriches travel experiences in Central and South America as well as Europe. Being bilingual creates numerous career prospects, as businesses increasingly seek Spanish-English speakers. There's also growing demand for professional translators and interpreters across healthcare, legal, government, military, law enforcement, and educational sectors.
At UTSA, student achievement is paramount. Our hands-on learning approach bridges classroom knowledge with real-world applications. As a Liberal & Fine Arts (COLFA) student, you'll examine, participate in, and reflect on experiences that prepare you for a global career.
