The Bachelor's program in Theatre (with EC-12 certification) gives students the chance to act, design, teach, and produce in theatre and film. This program offers the resources, faculty, coursework, and flexibility for students to specialize in acting, directing, playwriting, design, costumes, cinematography, post-production, or teaching.
UTRGV has authorization from the State Board of Educator Certification to endorse graduates of this program for teaching credentials.
The Theatre Department holds accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST).

TOEFL, Duolingo or IELTS scores must be sent directly from the educational testing service. UTRGV will not accept residual TOEFL exams taken at another institution (TOEFL ITP). The minimum scores for the tests are as follow: TOEFL 61 (IBT, IBT Home or IBT Paper edition, IBT MyBest Scores), TOEFL Essentials 6.5 (Essentials, MyBest Scores), Duolingo 95, and IELTS 6.
