Students pursuing educational diagnostician training develop skills in evaluating, recognizing, advocating for, and teaching K-12 and younger learners requiring additional educational support. This program mandates teacher certification along with supplementary diagnostician certification. Upon completion, participants emerge as enhanced instructional and administrative leaders capable of assisting both special and general education instructors, students with disabilities, and their families. Designed for graduate students holding a Texas Provisional Teaching Certificate, this program focuses on preparing professionals for roles within the Special Education framework of public schools. Prospective candidates should consult the Graduate Advisor regarding supplementary prerequisites for obtaining Professional Educational Diagnostician certification from the State Board of Educator Certification, which includes passing a state exam and completing 160 internship hours.
