Learners have the flexibility to customize their degree programs by selecting from multiple specializations, such as Educational Technology (ET) - equipping graduates to integrate tech tools into classroom teaching - or Dual Credit (DC) Teaching and Learning, designed to train secondary educators for delivering college-level courses in high schools. The 36-credit hour program mandates a minimum of 27 graduate-level credits. Each participant receives guidance from a Graduate Faculty Advisor when designing their academic pathway. Any undergraduate upper-level courses considered for graduate credit require advisor endorsement.
Specialization options include Bilingual Education, Early Childhood Education, Educational Technology, or Engineering. With faculty approval, students may also incorporate relevant courses from other UTEP departments to tailor their studies to specific interests.
