The Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biochemistry is a cutting-edge program designed to equip students in the border area with advanced training in modern biomedical research methods. This prepares them with both technical expertise and theoretical knowledge for high-demand careers in biomedical sciences. The curriculum is structured into four key components: general education (48 credits), core major courses (44 credits), mandatory chemistry classes (23 credits), and specialized electives (5 credits). Distinctive to this program are several core courses such as a hands-on cellular biochemistry lab, an innovative biochemistry lecture series, and a seminar dedicated to advanced biochemical research methods. Unlike existing biology department degrees, this program emphasizes biochemical research principles and practical applications. Selected foundational courses ensure comprehensive biomedical knowledge, while new offerings concentrate on research techniques for addressing human health challenges. Notably, the program's flexible design allows students to specialize in biology, microbiology, chemistry, or biochemistry after completing their initial two years. Graduates will also be exceptionally prepared for medical school and related health professions.
