The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance features two specializations: Dance Studies and Choreography, and Performance. The Dance Studies and Choreography track guides students toward academic dance research, creative composition, and production work rather than traditional stage performance training. This concentration equips graduates with foundational skills for careers in dance scholarship, commercial choreography, production, and using dance as a tool for social justice and community development. Alumni may pursue professions as visual artists, performance artists, theater directors, arts educators, administrative leaders, marketing professionals, technical production specialists, stage technicians, content editors, or authors.

Qualification Requirements
Official High School or College transcripts must be sent directly from the schools attended in the U.S. or abroad. Foreign transcripts in a language other than English must be translated before being submitted to the university. Copies or faxes are considered unofficial and will not satisfy this admission requirement.
All international students must submit entrance exam scores. Take one of the following exams and request your scores to be sent directly to UTEP from the testing center:
SAT: minimum score of 1070 (reading + math sections) with a score of 480 on the reading section
ACT: minimum composite score of 23 with a score of 19 on the English section
TOEFL: minimum score of 500 on UTEP's institutional paper based exam or
a minimum score of 61 on the Internet Based TOEFL (IBT)
UTEP does not accept IELTS scores for admission.
