The University of Florida's Dance Department aims to prepare future artists, scholars, and educators to drive transformation in the dance world and promote fairness across communities worldwide. We establish an environment rich in artistic and academic growth that embraces diversity, exploration, and bold experimentation while nurturing outstanding creative and scholarly achievements.
Our 120-credit Bachelor of Arts in Dance program offers students comprehensive training across dance disciplines. The curriculum covers practical dance training, performance, historical studies, theoretical frameworks, design principles, technological applications, and interconnected fields, while allowing room for students to explore additional academic interests through minors or second majors. Graduates emerge as independent thinkers capable of cross-disciplinary analysis and can effectively communicate the enduring influence and social impact of artistic expression throughout history and diverse cultural contexts.
Students must have completed a secondary and college or university credentials from non-U.S. institutions.
The university will require the following minimum scores on the redesigned SAT: SAT Reading = 24, Writing and Language = 25 and Math = 24. On the ACT, a minimum score of 19 on the Reading section and 19 on the Math section.
