The Aerospace Engineering (ASE) graduate program at The University of Texas at Austin ranks among the nation's top 10, providing students the chance to conduct groundbreaking research alongside renowned faculty. This program enables scholars to pursue in-depth studies and investigations culminating in either a Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy degree. Alumni embark on diverse career paths as aerospace professionals, including roles as engineers, researchers, innovators, astronauts, executives, and industry pioneers.
Our curriculum facilitates specialized study and original research for both the Master of Science in Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in aerospace engineering. While a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering or a related engineering discipline is the standard requirement, applicants with science or mathematics backgrounds may also qualify, though they may need to complete additional undergraduate coursework to meet program prerequisites.
Students must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a comparable degree from a foreign academic institution. A grade point average of at least 3.00 in upper-division (junior- and senior-level) coursework and in any graduate work already completed.
The minimum scores considered acceptable for admission by the Graduate School are:
TOEFL: 79 on the Internet-based test (iBT)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
