Our doctoral program equips students for careers in academia, government, and industry through rigorous training in research, instruction, and leadership. The curriculum stresses proficiency in complementary disciplines, with elective options including biochemistry, molecular biology, computer science, genetics, immunology, physiology, psychology, and health education. Nutrition science is currently experiencing unprecedented growth across all sectors - from childhood nutrition programs to cutting-edge studies on dietary impacts in disease prevention, metabolic disorders, and immune function. Our department embraces this diversity of nutritional science and actively seeks graduate applicants from varied cultural and academic backgrounds.
Admission requirements to the Graduate School and the Nutritional Sciences Graduate Program are as follows:
1. A bachelor’s degree in a nutrition related field from an accredited United States institution or proof of equivalent training at an institute outside the United States.
2. A grade point average of at least 3.00 in upper-division work (junior- and senior-level courses) and in any graduate work already completed.
Minimum scores acceptable for admission are:
A satisfactory score (minimum score of 82 required) on the TOEFL exam.
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
